Playing on Wimbledon Common is a unique privilege and it comes with one unmistakable tradition, everyone must wear a pillar-box red top while on the course, as required by the bylaws.

Don’t worry if you’ve left yours at home, our Pro Shop has red shirts and jackets you can buy or hire.

To keep things smart and safe:

• Golf shoes and caps are not allowed in the Clubhouse

• If you are wearing shorts, sports socks must be worn and pulled up

• Golf sweaters, waterproofs, and outerwear should also be pillar-box red

• No denim or hooded tops are allowed on the course
