London Scottish Golf Club has become a signatory of England Golf’s Women in Golf Charter.
The aim of the charter is to attract women, girls and families to enjoy golf whether it is playing or working. To achieve this goal and to enable women to flourish throughout golf, we recognise the need for a fundamental shift in culture.
There is an ethical need for change and the potential economic benefits of growing the sport through more women and girls playing are substantial. We have committed to making tangible efforts to develop a welcoming and inspiring environment for women.
How we plan to achieve this:
1. The club will ensure all women feel welcome regardless of their level of play
2. LSGC commits to target a level of 10% representation of women on the Committee.
3. Increase female participation and membership at the club.
4. The club commits to providing two initiatives to help encourage women to try golf.
5. Encourage female members to participate in club competitions.
6. Appoint a designated Charter Champion within the club who can assist with the promotion and reporting of the charter.
