Buggy Policy

London Scottish Golf Club supports the policy of The R&A to encourage golfers with physical difficulties to play the game if at all possible, and recognise that the use of a Buggy can greatly assist many in doing so.

LOCAL RULE

London Scottish Golf Club and its members are bound by the Rules of Wimbledon Common. In accordance to those rules, the only Buggies allowed on Wimbledon Common are privately-owned Buggies.

In considering all of the issues surrounding the use of a Buggy, the Committee has decided that privately owned golf buggies may be used during recreational rounds and club competitions at London Scottish Golf Club, subject to the following competition conditions.

Due to the Rules of Wimbledon Common, London Scottish Golf Club is unable to have Buggies for hire. The Buggies which are privately owned have been made available to those who may be in need of a Buggy.

EXCEPTIONS: The only occasions whereby a golfer will be refused permission to use a buggy, after assessment of ground conditions, the Course Manager or Committee may determine that the state of the course or the weather is such that safety or the condition of the course may be unacceptably compromised if a ride-on buggy is used by anyone. This might apply to the whole or just part of the course. Potentially unsuitable conditions include waterlogging, frost etc. Where such conditions arise, the Course Manager or Committee will review the situation on at least a daily basis.
