Captain's Day: A Day Out at Royal Wimbledon

Wednesday 7 October was Captain's Day and what better way to celebrate than with a round at one of London's finest courses?

Members headed to Royal Wimbledon Golf Club for this year's Captain's Day, with 18 holes of medal golf from the white tees and a little bit of extra pressure thrown in for good measure.

Play got underway from 12.30pm, with members heading out in fourballs throughout the afternoon battling the grizzly conditions.

Golf, Food and a Bit of Competition

The golf was followed by a two-course dinner at Royal Wimbledon and the prize giving bringing the day to a suitably competitive conclusion.

The Captain's Cup was up for grabs, with a maximum handicap of 21, the winner of that was Tom Jenkinson,, Charlie Hollington came second while Calum Bavin and Tony Whitten came joint third.

The Honorary Captain's Prize for scratch golfers was won by Calum Bavin

There was also a special prize for the Longest Drive on Hole 3 which was won by Calum Bavin.

While those who managed to find the pin on Hole 13 had the chance to claim the Nearest the Pin prize, the winner of this prize was Paul Cook.

With good golf, good food and some well-earned prizes on offer, it was a fitting way to celebrate another year at London Scottish.

A big thank you to everyone who took part and to Royal Wimbledon for hosting us.

Congratulations to our prize winners and well played to everyone who made the trip.
