A New Chapter Begins at London Scottish Golf Club

Last night we held our Annual General Meeting, marking the close of a memorable chapter and the start of an exciting new one for London Scottish Golf Club.

Our outgoing Captain, Charlie Matthews, was warmly thanked and celebrated for his dedication, leadership and commitment to the Club over the past year. Charlie’s efforts have played an important role in strengthening the spirit of the Club both on and off the course.

We were then delighted to welcome our new Captain, Keith MacDonald, who now takes the reins for the coming year. Joining him is our new Vice Captain, Steve Brooks, and together they will help guide the Club through what promises to be another fantastic season.

The evening also marked the end of an era as longstanding committee member and former Captain, Les Hodges, stepped down after an incredible 20 years of service to the Club. Les has been a cornerstone of the Club for two decades, and we are hugely grateful for the time, energy and passion he has devoted to helping the Club.

With strong leadership in place and an enthusiastic membership behind it, the Club enters the new year in a fantastic position. We look forward to building on this momentum and continuing to move the Club forward, both on the course and within our wonderful community.

Quiz Night

Quiz Night Delivers a Full House and Fierce Competition

Last Friday, the clubhouse at London Scottish Golf Club was packed to the rafters for one of our ever-popular pub quizzes,  and what a night it was.

Members and non-members filled the clubhouse, creating a brilliant atmosphere from the outset. The evening began with a delicious curry, served with all the trimmings, giving everyone the perfect opportunity to settle in, catch up with friends and prepare for the challenge ahead.

Once the plates were cleared, it was heads down and game on.

Our quiz nights are known for being competitive, but this one took it to another level. Teams debated fiercely, answers were defended with passion and every point mattered. With serious bragging rights at stake, no one was holding back.

Beyond the competition, the evening was exactly what club life is all about, great food, plenty of laughter and a wonderful sense of community. It was fantastic to see such a strong mix of familiar faces and new visitors enjoying the clubhouse together.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make it such a success.

London Scottish Golf Club Men’s Open 2026

Entries are now open for the Men’s Open at London Scottish Golf Club, taking place on Friday 24th April 2026.

Set on our beautifully maintained course on Wimbledon Common, the Open offers competitors the chance to enjoy one of the finest conditioned layouts in the South East. Thanks to our quick-draining gravel soil and sheltered, tree-lined setting, the course plays superbly in the spring and provides a true test for golfers of all standards.

The competition will be played as an 18-hole medal, with prizes for both Scratch and Handicap scores. Tee times will run from approximately 8.30am to 12.00pm, with players competing in threeballs.

The entry fee is £60 per person (£35 for LSGC & WCGC members), which includes coffee and a bacon roll on arrival, followed by a rolling hot buffet after your round in our welcoming Victorian clubhouse.

The Open is available to amateur male members of recognised golf clubs aged 18 or over on the day of the competition, and all entrants must hold a current CDH number.

Closing date for entries: 14th April 2026.

Places are limited and expected to fill quickly, so we encourage early booking via our online entry form. We look forward to welcoming players for what promises to be an excellent day of competitive golf on Wimbledon Common.
