Club Matches

A team of 12 LSGC golfers travelled to Westward Ho! in September to take on Royal North Devon in our annual match. Despite a brave effort, our team suffered a defeat by 8 points to 4. The wait for a first away win in the match continues.

2018-19 knockouts

The knockout draws have now been up for a few months but there are lots of first round games still to play. If you have entered any of the competitions and have yet to arrange your first games, please don't delay. The draws are up on the club noticeboard and in the members' area of the website. Competition Results

Congratulations to Dave Plastow, who won the MacKenzie Cup, the first event of the Autumn Meeting, with a fantastic net 62. Andy Pike also had a net 62 and was unlucky to miss out on countback. Denis Algreen finished in third place, just one shot back with a net 63.

The Bathgate Cup, the second event of the Autumn Meeting, was won by Steve Gorst, with a net 66. Steve triumphed on countback over John Cottle and Guy Gibbons, who also had net 66s. The Bathgate was rearranged after the Sunday was rained off on its original date. Commiserations to Peter Mason, who shot a net 62 on the original weekend before the competition was downgraded to a regular medal.

Various other prizes are also handed out following completion of the Autumn Meeting. Winners are as follows:

Autumn Scratch (best aggregate gross score over the two rounds): Peter Mason, 151
Captain's Prize (best aggregate net score over the two rounds): David English, 134
Simpson Ellis (best aggregate gross score over the four Spring and Autumn Meeting rounds): Barry Westrip
Donald Ridout (best aggregate net score over the four Spring and Autumn Meeting rounds): David English

Congratulations to all of the winners.

The most recent major was won by Nick Sharp, who emerged triumphant in the Spen Atwood with an impressive net 63. In second place was Conan Bailey and in third was John Prigg (both 66s).
