Upcoming Competitions - August

August sees the staging of our 'midweek major', the Ben Musk, named in honour of one of our former captains. The Ben Musk is an 18 hole stableford competition played over Tuesday 14, Wednesday 15 and Thursday 16 August (you can enter on any of these days). The reigning champion is Steve Gorst, who won last years competition with 38 points.

Competition Results

Well done to David Groom, who won the James Gow with a great round of net 61. In second place was Phil Faith with a net 63 and in third was Reg Carnegie with a net 64.

Congratulations also to John Cottle, who won the Claret Jug, which was played the same weekend as the James Gow. John triumphed with an excellent net 60, with John Grint second and Brian Batchelor third (both with net 64s).

Midweek evening golf

A group of members meet to play 9 holes on Thursday evenings during the summer, teeing off at about 6:30. All are welcome to join so please just turn up if you'd like to play.

More generally, the light evenings mean there are lots of opportunities for evening golf. If you do plan to play and need to pick up / leave your stuff in the clubhouse, it's best to give Grant a cal beforehand just to check when he plans to close up. His number is 020 8788 0135. Also be aware that the Windmill Car Park closes at dusk so make sure you don't get locked in!
