Burns Night

Burns Night Celebrations Light Up the Club

Last night marked one of the most anticipated and cherished events of the club calendar as members and guests came together to celebrate Burns Night in true Scottish style. The evening was filled with warmth, tradition and fantastic company, creating a memorable celebration of Scotland’s national bard, Robert Burns.

Guests were welcomed to the stirring sound of bagpipers, setting the perfect atmosphere for the night’s festivities, before the ceremonial Address to a Haggis took centre stage, a proud and entertaining highlight of the evening.

The menu was a feast worthy of the occasion. Diners enjoyed a traditional Cock-a-Leekie soup starter, followed by classic Haggis, Neeps and Tatties. This was complemented by a hearty traditional roast dinner, with a beautifully presented cheese board to round off the feast in style.

With great food, rich tradition and wonderful company, it was a Burns Night celebration to remember, and one that truly captured the spirit of this much-loved Scottish occasion.

Blue Plaque

Blue Plaque Takes Pride of Place at London Scottish Golf Club

We are delighted to share that the Blue Plaque awarded to London Scottish Golf Club, recognising us as the oldest 18-hole golf course in England, has now been installed in its permanent home at the Club.

Proudly displayed, the plaque marks an important moment in our long and distinguished history, dating back to our founding in 1865. It stands as a visible reminder of the Club’s enduring place in the story of English golf and is something all members and visitors can enjoy and celebrate.

We are honoured to receive this recognition and look forward to welcoming golfers and guests for many years to come beneath this fitting tribute to our heritage.

Historic Win

History was made this week as the Rest of the World team claimed their first-ever victory in our annual Ryder Cup-style competition, overcoming England, Ireland and Scotland in a memorable and hard-fought contest.

In what has traditionally been dominated by the home nations, this year’s event delivered a surprise result that will be talked about for a long time to come. The Rest of the World team produced outstanding performances across the matches, combining teamwork, resilience and no shortage of competitive spirit to lift the trophy for the very first time.

Facing strong opposition from England, Ireland and Scotland, the winning team rose to the challenge, delivering key points when it mattered most and showing that depth, unity and determination can triumph over tradition.

The victory marks a significant milestone for the competition and adds a new chapter to its growing history. It also sets the stage for an exciting rivalry going forward, with the Rest of the World now firmly established as a force to be reckoned with.

Congratulations to the entire Rest of the World team on a landmark win.
